History

Serif was founded by a small team of software engineers who wanted to create a low-cost Desktop Publishing (DTP) package for everyday PC users[3] and in 1990 Serif released PagePlus 1.0. Today PagePlus is Serif’s flagship software suite and has won several awards over the years.[4]

Serif offers free, feature-restricted versions of its latest titles (the Starter Edition range) [5] and maintains a separate website allowing customers to download free copies of older versions of their applications.[6] Serif also sells selected software and hardware items from other manufacturers via their website.
